ABOUT SPORTS MEDICINE
The Bowen Hefley Orthopedics Sports Medicine Program is designed and staffed to be a comprehensive resource for athletes, coaches and athletic departments.
Our Sports Medicine Program includes a comprehensive team of specialists trained specifically to consult and treat athletes. Our elite team is comprised of Orthopedic Surgeons, Physical Therapists, Certified Athletic Trainers, Strength/ Conditioning Experts, and Massage Therapists.

Bowen Hefley Orthopedics is your one source for sports medicine surgeons and specialists. Our physicians are highly skilled in the latest arthroscopic techniques and surgical advances for treatment of complex sports injuries. They have participated in the care and treatment of thousands of athletes at all levels of sports programs including recreational, high school, collegiate and professional.

ATHLETIC TRAINERS & SCHOOL OUTREACH
The Athletic Trainers (ATs) at Bowen Hefley Orthopedics collaborate with the physician and clinical staff to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Our Athletic Trainers provide outreach services to local athletes and high school sports programs here in central Arkansas managing concussions and helping to prevent heat illness in athletes as well. They also make return to play decisions working under the direction of our physicians to ensure the utmost safety of the athlete. We are proud to have served area high school and collegiate athletic programs for over 25 years. We currently have a sports outreach team comprised of three Certified Athletic Trainers. Through our outreach program we provide over 800 free high school physicals to local high school athletes every year, as well as provide sports coverage for local athletic events such as the Shootout of the South, Arkansas State Wrestling Tournament, and the Mighty Bluebirds Soccer Tournament.
